Erins' Breakaway!

A little over 2 months ago, I decided that it was a time for change. I was on a downward spiral path with my weight and my mood and I knew that I am the only one that can change myself. I finally decided to quit bitching and moaning and just do it. So I joined Gold's gym and promptly got started with the gym and personal training.

My goals are:
  • Lose 80 lbs
  • Get some endurance
  • Feel more energy
  • Mental clarity - quit obsessing over myself!
  • Train for USMC mud run
  • Get my nutrition in check

I am currently working hard on these goals. My biggest and hardest goal so far is to keep my nutrition in check. I do very well during the week but the weekends all hell breaks lose and I eat whatever I want and however much of it that I want. I'm not nearly as active on the weekend either.

From here on out I will be keeping tabs in this blog on my progress and how far I am coming along with all aspects of my training. Accountability to myself is paramount and so I have to do something to make myself accountable!

My weekly schedule has been Personal Training on Mondays and Friday with Zumba on Wed. and Thurs. I am hoping to try spinning class - although it scares the living hell out of me! - and stick with that twice a week as well. I need to spring into action and just do it!

Circle Scrap page

I made this layout for a challenge on scrapbook.com. It was to use circles on your LO. I have wanted to scrap these pictures of my DS ever since Glen took them in May. I finally figured out how I wanted to scrap them.

I wrote as my journaling: if only....I could stop the hands of time and keep you mine forever! Some days I really miss being able to pick him up and hold him. It has been such a long time since I was able to do that. At 12 years old, my DS is only 2 inches shorter than I am. There is no way that I can pick him up and hold him anymore. I am enjoying watching him grow up but at the same time I want to keep (return him) to being little again.
I am so proud of what he has become and what a handsome, caring, and giving young man that he is.

About Me

Hello. I am about to start a blog that is all about me - or rather what I think about what is happening in my world, in the world as a whole and in the world of my friends and companions.

I have been married for a little over 2 years now. I am incredibly happy with my husband. I have one natural child and 4 step children. I struggle with parenting my child and I struggle trying to parent and to be a friend and confidant to my 4 step children.
I have 3 dogs - 2 boxers, 1 chocolate lab. No other animals (thank God!). We live in a very small home. I'm very hopeful and positive that one day we will have a bigger home filled with the kids and the dogs and more importantly filled with love.

I consider myself to be creative and and forward thinking. I love the art of scrapbooking - yes it is an art! I love to interior decorating and I love to rearrange things to create a completely different atmosphere with the home. I find it invigorating if I can move things around when my environment gets stagnit. I have recently started to collect some fine art pieces. I have some from Peter Nixon, Charles Lee (he is my favorite!), Tarkay, LeKniff, and others.
I like to vacation at warm places - My hubby and I really enjoyed Jamaica and we are looking forward to going back sometime in the near future. We will renew our vows on the beach. We had originally planned on marrying on the beach but due to parents with illnesses and also wanting to involve the kids. We got married at my Aunt and Uncle's backyard and it was beautiful!
